Zeitreise ins Mittelalter Eggenburg 12&13 September 2015
We have been asked from the organizers of this very famous Austrian medieval fair/market to show historic crafts for this years edition of the festivity. Although medieval fairs are not so much our main occupation, we were looking forward to extending our repertoire.
We built up our camp with 2 tents and a modern solar panel and were ready to show shoemaking, girdlemaking, fabric printing and mural painting. Our post at the Kanzlerwiese, a little off from the main areas was more quiet than the rest of the city, yet still we were struggling to satisfy the interestend visitors with answers to all their questions.
Of course we also were able to take some short breaks to do some shopping at the many artisans and craftsmen at the festival. We hardly ever have that opportunity during vivifications as we usually do.
All in all it was a very nice weekend and a welcome diversion from our usual doing.
